Monday Mingle - Little Ladies Day Or Week

A holiday has begun in the world of Eorzea, despite Dalamud dropping in an Era ago.
To this end, the seneschal of a noble house of the Thorne Dynasty has decided to participate in this years Little Ladies Day. With the aid of the event organizers, there are Daisy Flower Crowns being distributed to the Princesses of this world. Give your Princess a wonderful Flower Crown to show your appreciation, and be their seneschal, prince, retainer, whatever, for this day!
But that's not all.
To celebrate this event, the Songbirds, famed songstress idols have been hard at work preparing a new song for their group. A majestic concert is being prepared on the stage in Ul'dah, and everyone is invited to watch their concert.
So have fun, come visit Ul'dah, come visit Eorzea. It's a happy time, one for rest and relaxation. One might think, it's a calm before a potential storm, considering the Garlean menace on the horizon...
Rycliff "Cliff" Vitner | OC
Seemed simple enough, to him. Especially when he could coax flowers out of the worst soil the desert could offer up. His crowns might be a bit more clumsy than the others' well-woven attempts, but the flowers smelled better or looked brighter. Something that made them appeal. And all completely innocuous, though he might have gotten complained at since he was the weirdo not handing out daisy crowns.
All he could do was shrug and grin crookedly at that. It's not like he was hurting anything or anyone, right? Just a little off kilter.
"I promise the next set will be daisies, honest!" With that, he tried to slip off through the crowd, handing off the brightlily crown he carried to the nearest female with a rather courtly bow and another crooked grin.
"Uh, happy Little Ladies' Day!" Someone save him, please. Stuff like this was never so difficult back home.

Taking pity on him, that and he didn't even seem to get EXP for it, he went over and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, buddy," said the huge warrior. "You're doing it wrong. The quest I mean. You wanna go talk to the potato over there and get the Daisy Crowns over there and hand them out from their people."

WAY up. Wow. This dude was huge. Not to mention buff and in what looked like bulky armor...and a floppy hat?
Well. No accounting for taste, and it wasn't like his sisters didn't wear weirder stuff regularly. He turned to look to where the guy pointed.
"That doesn't look like a potato," Cliff said. "That looks like a chubby toddler wearing fake facial hair...so what makes it a potato?"
And why the hell was it offering a quest, Cliff wondered. That made absolutely no sense, but neither did finding himself here, and he wasn't even about to ask for answers to that question.

"It's a lalafell. It's automatically a potato," said Koo'ri as if it answered everything.
"And of course it's offering a quest. It's asking us to give out daisy crowns to aspiring princesses all over town in order for sweet fireworks and other rewards. C'mon I'll show you the ropes. Did you just get off the wagon or something?"
no subject
He didn't understand the wagon comment, but...
"Sure, I just got off the wagon." Decided to go with it. "So tell me what I need to do, since you sound like you know."

Koo'ri gestured as the Royal Senschal offered up the quest, handing them the daisy crows. "C'mon let's find a few couples and hand these out. And I'll show you around town."
no subject
He shrugged and accepted some of the daisy crowns. "Okay, sure. I'm following you. That works for me."
This was a couples' holiday? Ugh, wonderful. He tried to school his expression to serenity like he'd been taught, but it probably wasn't 100%.

Gesturing down the road, there was a young girl and a retainer. "There's one. On Little Ladies Day today we're giving a young Princess a Daisy Crown for the occasion, and her Senschal, that is to say her retainer, escorts her around town and makes her feel like a young princess of the Thorne Dynasty. This is a day to make the young girls and even older women feel special. And to help the Senschals feel important again in their duties as their princes."
no subject
"Okay, so I'm supposed to go over there and hand over a flower crown?" He's a lot less imposing than his guardian/companion, but he still figures that he better get down on one knee to offer up the flower crown. It's more proper that way. At least to him. He's got some courtly wiles, after all. Thanks, Mom.
So he kneels, and offers up the crown to the young girl, with a glance to her seneschal, to make sure it's all okay. But with the way the girl blushes and claps her hands to her cheeks, he figures he's doing all right.

Gesturing towards the lalafell senschal, he said, "Adventurers make a pretty decent coin helping out. It's humble work, but many of us really enjoy it. Hey, there's derpy-derp right now helping out. He's the one mobbed by kids."
Sure enough, a sort of tired looking guy dressed in long red robes with a sword buckled to his side was being mobbed by kids. And he was handing out cookies and generally being nice to them. "He's my buddy, though he looks busy. So we'll leave him be for now. He's famous y'know the world over."
no subject
"He's famous here? Huh. Well, yeah, that'd explain the kids, wouldn't it?" Not that he exactly got mobbed back home, but it was one thing when everyone knew who you were. It also explained the tired look. That sort of thing sure got old fast. He didn't actually try to catch the guy's attention, but he did lift a hand to sort of wave. Kind of a 'hey man, I know how it goes, 'sup?' sort of thing instead of an actual attempt at an interruption.
"So now what do we do?"
no subject
The Warrior smiled and waved back, before going back to the kids, handing out flower crowns and cookies. "He's a good guy. He looks worn out though. I mean seriously worn out. The impending war's got everyone on edge."
"For now? More crowns, and then we'll collect our reward. They're handing out rewards for a job well done and then we can relax. It's a good first reward for someone new off the wagon."
no subject
"War?" Okay, that was bad. There were reasons wars didn't happen as a rule, where he came from. "Between who?" Maybe that was none of his business, but he couldn't help but ask. As for the 'more crowns' answer, he should have expected that, maybe. Cliff just nodded, and went over to the...Lalafell? Had to hit the guy up for more crowns.
no subject
He shrugged a little. "I mean, we're getting along as much as possible."
no subject
It sounded to Cliff like it was a good excuse for a curbstomp if there ever was one--not that he knew the Empire's power. No one messed with the Bladewolf, after all. Maybe no one messed with Eorzea, either.
Cliff shrugged too. "Sometimes that's all you can do." His mom still didn't like the Sorceress.

"I...don't know what any of that stuff is, so I'll take your word for it. None of it sounds good," he admitted.
"Just swords and spears? No magic or anything like that?" Because if that was really the case, that was bad news.

"Too hard to work in concert and call up giant stone golems or something?" He eyed Koo'ri a moment, but Cliff couldn't blame the guy if that was out of his forte. He seemed more likely to bro around with the Rage--more a warrior type. Which was just fine. Too many mages meant mayhem, sometimes.

"Can't argue with that," Cliff admitted. "Well, yeah, he's lucky to have a fellow like you around. Only thing you need now is a healer to make sure neither of you have your insides on the outside."
Cliff might be able to manage that, since his element was one of the ones better aspected to healing, but that was one of the things he wasn't entirely confident in, so he wasn't about to volunteer.
no subject
"But that's what his friend list is for."
no subject
Besides, he'd been all upset that his sibs had gone on adventures, and now that he was getting a taste of it, was he just going to walk away? Um. No?
no subject
"I mean, I heal a little. Not much."
no subject
He thought about that for a moment. "Suppose it's better than nothing, though."
