Restaurant to Another World - Day of Satur

Once again, the Day of Satur has rolled around, and the Doors to the Restaurant to Another World has opened. Good western food and a dash of Eastern food is upon us, warming the hearths and homes of everyone who wants to travel through it's doors.

So come on in, eat up.

Grab a bowl of soup, for it is Meat Day today, and vegetarian soup for all of you vegetarians.

It's time to eat.

Brigitte smiles in a lovely but somehow impersonal way.

"Ah, feel free."

"Sorry to bother you."

Pulling up a seat, Izuku broke his chopsticks thanked for a moment before digging in. "Thanks for letting me sit here. There really isn't any place left. It's crowded today. I'm Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you miss."

[waiting_aroma]

"Brigitte Petillant."

There's a pause as she sips some more of her soup and lets out a little sigh of pleasure. When she looks back at Izuku, her smile is more real.

"Are you new to this other world thing too?"

"Ah, yes, yes I am actually." said Izuku with a sheepish grin. "I got warped into another world a few days ago and I was able to get back to my dorm before anything happened. I'm from a world where heroes go to school to learn."

[waiting_aroma]

Brigitte nods.

"This is my first time going to a different world by myself. I'm from a world with Pokemon."

[ironwoodtrees]

"Pokemon?" Izuku thought back to what he had saw on the Duck and nodded. "You mean those small monsters that people catch and train right?"

It was a rather generic description because it could apply to a dozen pet monster genre series but...

"Sorry, I've never really watched much anime in my time..."

[waiting_aroma]

"I don't read comic books, so we're even."

[ironwoodtrees]

Izuku had to chuckle. "I guess so. A lot of people don't really know much about each other's worlds. But then there's people coming in here at all sorts of times and places."

[waiting_aroma]

A slow nod as Brigitte considers.

"This is a nice restaurant. Just from the taste of the food you can tell it doesn't need business from other worlds to stay afloat."

Her expression as she says this is complicated.

"Yeah, their food is top notch. Which makes me wonder why it opens to another world." said Izuku thoughtfully.

"It gets along just fine without it, maybe it's some kind of special event that just happens naturally in some other world?"

[waiting_aroma]

"Something like that, probably."

Brigitte chews on a piece of katsudon thoughtfully.

"This is...pretty good."

[ironwoodtrees]

"It is. It's rich, but it's not overly so. It's just right, kind of like what you get from a quality restaurant but not too expensive."

Taking another bite, Izuku savored the taste. "I'll have to bring my mom here next time I come here."

[waiting_aroma]

"The recipe itself is straightforward, but the technique is refined. You can tell the chef's been doing this for a long time."

"Yeah, it's good. I don't think the Lunch Hero has anything on the master of this place," said Izuku.

[waiting_aroma]

There's a pause as Brigitte absorbs that.

"Lunch...Hero."

It's not really a question, but her expression invites Izuku to explain anyway.

[ironwoodtrees]

"Ah yes, the Lunch Hero, Lunch-Rush. He studied in UA before moving to France to hone his culinary skills, earning even a Relais Grade in desserts before returning to teach at UA. He heads up the school cafeteria, to ensure all of the students get a balanced meal." said Izuku by way of explaining.

[waiting_aroma]

Brigitte has no idea what a France is, but she does know what a Relais Grade is.

"Un pâtissier licencié travaille dans une école?"

[ironwoodtrees]

Excuse his bad Kalosian but thankfully, Duckian saves him and translates for him.

"Y-yeah, he's working for UA. Which is strange, considering his background. But he's both a hero and a cook which is a odd choice of careers but he focuses on the cooking more."

[waiting_aroma]

Brigitte covers her eyes with one hand, murmuring in Kalosian.

"Je n'y crois pas..."

Izuku doesn't need Duckian to hear the exasperation in her voice for that one, and he wisely doesn't comment. Instead he says, "Well, Lunch-Rush believes in a healthy diet for everyone, although he does say that the best food is white rice. I guess he's also a bit of a Japanese traditionalist at heart when it comes to food."

He shrugs a little helplessly at that.

Brigitte takes a deep breath before replying.

"Ah, it's good you have a well-run cafeteria..."

She might be a little baffled by the everything surrounding it, but she does think it's a positive thing.

"It's really good food. I kind of want to get him to visit this restaurant and see if the food here matches up his standards." said Izuku.
