And then Sombra attacked the Crystal Empire, shattered the Tree of Harmony, enslaved the people of Ponyville into his servants [this was muttered] including me, into his army, and attacked Canterlot, and Twilight and her friends managed to vaporize him and defeat Sombra and free everypony!

And then the Princesses figured it was a bad idea to just foist the job over so suddenly and said they'll wait.
