001 - Search for the Shards [Video]

[The feed turns on, and the fairy on the other side seems to have a mix of worry and confusion on her face. She's not used to this kind of communication, but...]

Um... hi! [She tries to look less worried, but it's not working too well.] I was told this connects to other worlds, and I hope that's true... because I need your help. You see, um, our Crystal has gone missing. And it's not a crystal anymore - not a full one. It's been completely shattered!

[She pauses, taking a breath.] I thought all hope was lost, until I managed to find one of the shards. As it turns out, there's other shards scattered across these other worlds. Using the shard I have, I can find them. I don't like asking for help like this... but I'm afraid if we don't find the shards, there's going to be a lot more trouble. The ones who shattered the crystal... they're terrible beings. They've been completely possessing others and using them to find the shards. I think the crystal can be the key to getting rid of them, and maybe that's why they're seeking the shards out.

If you see them, though, don't try to fight them! They're fast, and they're mean! If you wish to help us find the shards, I and the other fairies of Ripple Star will be forever grateful... as would other worlds being affected by all this, I'm sure. Please, be careful...

Why do I have a feeling that not finding all the shards is going to end up worse than Bahamut going bonkers?

I can only guess that they're keeping the shards away from everyone else. I've managed to escape Ripple Star, myself... but the dark beings keep growing stronger! It's like they feed off of negativity... maybe that's why they're afraid of the Crystal.

[ Amelia looks like she's thinking it over, lazily petting her chocobo hatchling minion as it bounces around her feet. After a moment she waves her hand, the minion disappearing in a flash of magic as she stands.]

I-I wouldn't be so confident! I've been looking into some of the other worlds through this device... and they've managed to take over even strong fighters! It's almost like, no matter how powerful or fast someone is, they can take over their minds and force them to their will...

It's not that I doubt you or anyone else's abilities... but when they can steal your body, it's an even more dangerous thing.

Maybe finding one of the shards might help keep them off you, though, since you seem to be a tough one. There has to be some reason they're obsessed with them...
