1st Anniversary - Backdated July 4th
While everyone was off doing their Shenanigans, there was a small celebration going on between families.
Turns out, a very specific wedding celebration was on the 4th, and Amelie and Apple were definitely ready for this, with the hours of decorating, fretting, stuff that happened, and preparation, Apple wiped her forehead and prepared the cake's final touches.
"Finished!"
With family and close friends gathered for the anniversary, Apple brought out the cake and set it on the table, a lavish German Chocolate Cake, which was "Apple-fied". Which meant the Americanized ingredients were lavishly recreated with authentic German chocolate and rich ingredients until Amelie's sweet tongue was satisfied.
"Happy Anniversary my love!"

"Happy Anniversary my love!"

“Happy Anniversary, my heart.”
Amelie reaches into one of her hoops and pulls out a gorgeous bouquet of pristine white lillies, over a dozen of them, handing them over with a flourish.
Apple might notice that they have no scent, and a closer look will reveal the truth - they’re made out of cotton.

"Congratulations you two for one year of wedded bliss!" Exclaimed Serena's mother, holding her stomach as she beamed at them, clapping with Serena, Ash, and Apple's dad. Apple's mom, Snow, had to already leave for a meeting.

Amelie very obviously had to have spent a lot of time on this. But it’s not like Apple doesn’t deserve it.

She gave her wife another kiss before saying, "Let's taste your cake then. I made it love and care, just like you wanted."

Pause to consider before she addresses the room in general instead of Apple specifically.
"Is it weird I created a maze of extra-dimensional space for my Pokemon to play in so they wouldn't get at the cake?"

Taking up their wedding knife, she held it out for Amelie. "Cut it together?"
no subject
"Of course, ma petit."

Making sure that the slice was firmly on the plate, she took a fork and offered Amelie the first taste -- it was her present after all before they would share the taste around for everyone to enjoy.

"It's delicious, Apple."

As Amelie passes out slices of cake, Grace looks between her and Apple and nudges Tadashi.

"Now let's open presents!" Exclaimed Tadashi, pushing forward some more presents.

“Papa, even Mama was showing discretion. Why would you call me out?”
She’s not really angry, of course.

"We uh, got you Kantonese Presents," said Ash with a rueful grin. "Mom helped pick it out."
It was a gift of Tin Tablewear, a simple set of decorative dishes.

“Tin plates! Apple, Apple, it’s tin! Real Kanto tin!”
SO. HAPPY.

"I'm glad you two love it!" Exclaimed Serena. "Ash's mom said it would suit you two just fine! She just had a hunch!"

The next gift put forward is from Grace - the one that isn't pregnant - and Tadashi. Nestled within a small wooden box is a pair of old-fashioned brass pocket watches. Each of them has a flower engraved on the lid - one apple blossom, one amaryllis - and when the catch is activated, the lid snaps open, revealing the face of the watch and a picture of Apple and Amelie leaning against each other that Tadashi took a while back.

"It's perfect! I love it so much, thank you, mama, papa!"
Apple's father chuckled. "That sounds more charming than it does to me, Apple dearest," he said, knowing that Apple always loved him a little more than his mother. "Here's mine. It cannot measure up to your cooking so I dug deep into your interests."
Some of Apple's loves also included, most recently, international tastes, and inside was a hand-woven craft in a crude approximation of two swans together. "I'm sorry I'm not good with my hands, dear," he said, as Apple's eyes welled up. "I looked up that you liked Korean food now and I wanted to give you something from it but I'm all butterfingers. I just--oof!"
Apple lunged into a hug. "it's wonderful daddy. Thank you."
Apple's father smiled and hugged back. "I'm so sorry your mother isn't the best mother, Apple, but I'll always love you."
