01 - Peni Parker - Spider-Verse

So I read through all of this..., hi fellow Spider-world people! And I have to wonder.

How are you all not GLITCHING?

I was glitching when I went to Miles world and it HURT. A lot.

Oh this is Peni Parker. I guess... I'm SP//DR.

I was bitten by a radioactive spider who lives inside my father's robot and now I have a psychic bond with it.

What's your origin stories everyone?

"Alola! I'm Moon, nice to meet you! Which origin story did you want, the one that started my adventures or the one that gave me superpowers?"

Um... both? I'm honestly not picky and considering the last time I had to tell a origin story I was sharing it with Noir and Spider-Ham.

So please, tell away!

[moonoveralola]

"Okay, so the first one is that we moved to Alola and I got to do a traditional rite of passage called the Island Challenge! So I got to travel all over the place and make new friends and save an alien planet from a giant dragon of light. He lives in Poke Pelago with my other friends now and he really likes tilling the fields!"

A pause.

"As for getting powers, I was learning how to fuse with Miss Amelie but something went wrong and our fusion collapsed and now I have this!"

Pulling up the hem of her shirt to expose the moonstone that's taken the place of her navel.

"I can walk through walls and stuff and pull out this giant blade that can turn into a laser chainsaw axe now."

"That's about as good of a origin story as I could come up with! I'll take it!" Exclaimed Peni with a grin.

"That must have been quite the adventure, both of them. I recently had an adventure too, when my dimension got folded in with another six of them."

[moonoveralola]

"Cool!"

Moon's wearing a fancy white jumpsuit and she's just finished pulling off some kind of fancy helmet.

"Oh hey, if you open the menu like this -" Moon traces a DDD in the air "- you can use the warp function to come over to where I am!"

Moon shows off what she means - she's in some kind of jungle surrounding an active volcano, standing on top of a palm tree that looks like a flexing bodybuilder.

Huh, wow, that's really fancy.

[She's trailing the menu open and examining it.] Wow, even my own dimension and Miles and Gwen's...

Those are some buff looking trees.

[moonoveralola]

Nod nod.

"It's the Ultra Jungle! Or, well, that's what I call it, anyway. Dunno what planet this is."

You just go to another planet? Just like that?

[That's crazy and reckless and Peter would have a panic attack if she ever tried it and...]

Can I come?

[Peni no.]

[moonoveralola]

"'Course! Just open the Friends Menu, I'm in the Video Game tab!"

Come onnnnn, explore an alien planet with Moon, it's safe!

Ish.

"Video Games and... okay here we go!"

She clicked it and poof, there she goes, reappearing several dozen feet below Moon. "Hey!" She exclaimed, waving.

[moonoveralola]

WAVING BACK.

"Can you get up by yourself?"

[lucky_peni]

"Um, I think so. Hold on."

Fixing up web shooters she had made herself, since she was still working on repairing SP//DR, she shot a web up and launched herself up to where Moon was sitting.

"Hey! There we go."

[moonoveralola]

"Neeeeat!"

SPARKLY EYES. Behind her, a small, strange rodent mimics her expression.

Oh cute!

"Oh cute! Is that your pet?" asked Peni curiously. "I've never seen anything like this before! Though I've never seen the buff trees to be honest."

[moonoveralola]

"This is my Raichu! A friend gave him to me and I love him very much."

The Raichu waves hello and lets out a soft 'Rai!' Moon beams, hands on her hips.

"He's an Alolan Raichu, so he's not just an Electric-type, he's also a Psychic-type!"

Peni digs into her bag she keeps at her side and pulls out some candy, holding it up before asking, "Is it okay if I give him candy?"

[moonoveralola]

"Sure! He doesn't like mint, though."

Raichu floats over to Peni, chittering happily.

[lucky_peni]

"Okay sure. Let's see, I've got chocolate and bubblegum... and oh here's some peppermint, I'll take that for myself. And here's some nuts. Do you like nuts?"

[moonoveralola]

There's more happy chittering at the mention of nuts, and Raichu's eyes are sparkling again.

"He loves nuts!"

"Okay, here we go." She gives Raichu several nut-based candies.

"Want some too?" asked Peni, offering Moon some candy.

[moonoveralola]

Moon immediately grabs one of the chocolate ones, smiling.

"Hey, wanna see something cool?"

She holds the still-wrapped candy with one hand as she considers what she's about to do. Reaching out with her other hand, she pulls the chocolate out without affecting the wrapper at all.

"Neat, right?"

"Oh cool, that's your phasing ability right?" said Peni. "I hadn't seen something like that for myself. Miles could camouflage himself but nothing like that."

[moonoveralola]

Nod nod.

"Uh-huh! I thought it'd be more fun to do it this way instead of just sticking my hand through your arm or something!"

A pause as she swallows the candy.

"You wanna go meet an alien?"

"Do I?"

Moon you read her mind.

"Sure let's go!"

I haven't really tried going to any of the other alternate New Yorks yet but glitching?

Also...I can't believe you're the first spider-girl I've met. How did it take so long?

[As for Origin stories...]

I'm Sandy Marko, my dad was the Villain The Sandman, but I spent most of my life without him. Then my city got overwhelmed with Venom monsters so I had to stop running and learn to fight...except I got sucked away to another universe where we were forced to fight to the death a lot for entertainment.

After that I kind of just got dropped into another universe for magical girls, and now I'm back and not really sure where to go from here.
