Monthly Mingle - First Weekend of May Camping!

Welcome Ducks! Today, on Friday May 17, a very special thing is happening. Hayate pops up on the net with an invite.

It seems that she has been hard at work arranging some downtime for everyone on the Duck, and arranging a friends-and-family retreat. A resort in Alberta, Canada, Rocky Mountain House has graciously offered to put them up for a couple of weeks for camping, white water rafting, horseback riding and other fun camping things.

As the invite explains, it's in thank you for helping with the adventure that fixed the Duck, how big or how small it had been.

And honestly, from the bottom of her heart, Hayate and the Admins thank you.

So please, come and enjoy yourself. Food and drink are provided but you may bring your own, build a fire, participate in the activities that can be found here in the resort, and stay a while and listen to the stories around the campfire.



And remember, if things get spicy between couples, remember to mark your toplevels.

Tony wasn't known to relax that often, but when he was, he was dressed in a hooded shirt and jeans. The usual impeccably dressed man was stuck watching the Future Avengers play with Hulk and Janet, the Future Avengers were gathering wood for a fire.

"Friday, bring up the schematics for the Mark 12."

"Mr. Stark you're supposed to be on holiday," reminded Friday as she brought them up anyway.

"Just checking. It's a working vacation."

The sound of clacking wood could be heard as Adam sparred with Teela. The pair clashed back and forth for a few minutes before they broke off, Adam stepping back with a sigh. "Okay, I think I need a break. We've been at this for fifteen minutes."

"Getting tired?" asked Teela.

"A little." He paused. "You're not going to give me grief about that?"

Teela rolled her eyes. "Adam, some fish-headed person broke you out of Snake Mountain on a flying car. Your dad wants me to look after you AND to get you to relax. You look TIRED. Just... don't overwork yourself."

"Awww you do care."

Teela threw a cloth at his face and Cringer laughed.

Kamala poked the fire the Future Avengers had built as she stoked it, blowing the flames as the tinder burnt. Looking up at Clint who set down the wood next to her, she smiled. "Clint! I didn't know you'd be here."

"Taking a break from stuff," replied Clint. "When Tony said you guys were vacationing I didn't realize it was all the way in Canada. Natasha's here too."

"Really? Well, I'll have to say hello." Kamala picked up a stick and placed it onto the fire. "This is soothing."

Clint sat down. "It really is."

"Camping's pretty nice isn't it?" said Toshi, leaning back in his chair as Dave worked on a piece of tech with a screwdriver. "Glad we got the invite."

"I think everyone did Toshi," replied Dave. "We should be grateful. And it's almost Restaurant day too. I hear the Master is bringing the restaurant to us."

"Oh, is it meat day?" asked Toshi.

"I think so," replied Dave. "Hey!" Called out Dave, waving at a nearby friend.

Compared to Angelville this was a picnic. So Jessie grips her coffee and stares into the campfire, she's finally free but at what cost to her soul? But in spite of her turmoil she is social, well she tries to be.

Angelville left its mark and the divinity student is hiding it.

Oh let's be real, she's failing and adds more booze to her drink.

Jesus was here on a camping trip with Buddha. He had been on numerous camping trips before when he was doing his work before, but after helping his father do his work, he felt like he needed to unwind a little, and his dad agreed.

Sitting down in the chair next to Jessie, he set down a plate of cheese, bread and a pot of warm coffee from the fire with a smile. "Do you need to talk?" he asked gently as he offered her a refill on her coffee.

'Maybe? Don't wanna burden anyone else with my demons." comes the delicate Southern accent. "Just don't know which way is even up, been wanting to get away but at what cost." but anyone can see the truth. She's falling,"I was Jessica L'Angelle but now I'm Jessie Custer." her long standing nickname and her true last name.

Jesus of course, can see that, being who he was as he nodded. Stirring the fire a little with a stick, he listened to her worry. "I'm good at listening, and teaching," replied Jesus with a smile, tilting his head a little as he offered, "I've been known to cast out a few demons in my time."

"Feel free to ramble, I've been known to help people with their troubles."

Kotomi Ichinose (Monster High) | Clannad | OTA

Kotomi had been open for camping activities. She really had. But after having been five months as an exchange student, subject to blending in, she either occupied the entire raft or made it sink into the water .

At her larger figure and heavier weight, the horses (rightfully) ran away the moment the draconic Kotomi heaved close.

So to continue being a part of the camping trip, although with an unnerving hunger she sported after having seen the horses, Kotomi blew a stream of fire into the pile of wood until it lit alive, glowing brightly in the center of the camp around the food they had gathered.

After it, Kotomi rose her head back up until she towered over the rest of the visitors. Her neck had lengthened, her legs had turned digitigrade, and scales covered most of her enlarging body. She had to get her uniform custom-tailored for her changing body, which was constantly outgrown as the months passed. But while she knew it wouldn't be the end of her transformation until she finished the year and returned home (whenever if she'd return as a human or as a full-blown dragon), Kotomi had taken it all as part of an experience outside of Hikarizaka and her world.

Not that she was going to part from half of the books behind her, mind.

"I didn't get to camp a lot back home," she smiled down at the many survival techniques she had actually applied from the books she had read, "it is one thing to read how to use these procedures, but another to use them and rely on them..."
