Alphinaud would be so intrigued at this. Pity he's not here right now. Oh what's this?

[Her expression turns surprised as she starts paging through the material.] Oh. OH. Oh my. The internet is more lewd than I thought... How much of this is there?

Lyse naked images? I uh...

[Her face turns red as she starts paging through it, moments before a familiar voice is heard.]

What are you looking at Alisaie? asks Lyse off-screen as Alisaie SLAMS the book shut, cutting the image feed but not the voice.

Big library similar to Aspio, I'm guessing? Probably a major research hub?

Sharlyan is a nation built on scholars. So it's basically a city of, well, nerds.

Yeah, pretty much. Aspio's part of the Empire, so technically bound to its authority, but after some... Incidents, it's kinda less controlled lately.

Sharlyan's a nation unto itself, although the nation moved away from Dravanian soil years ago. I grew up in Dravania before we moved to the Isle with my brother and Grandfather, and I came to Eorzea a year ago.

I'm obviously missing some details, but... Does that mean you're working independently, then? Like with your world's Guilds or something?

I work with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, a non-aligned group that mostly deals with Primal threats to Eorzea, although our duties seem to be recently dealing with liberating nations in the name of eliminating summoned deities.

If you want to research, you have to actually not be part of the Scions, or have more time allotted for it.

Our role is more like active keepers of the realm, protecting the land from the Primal threat rather than pouring over notes unless needed. It's not to say that it isn't warranted often.

I didn't have much time to do any research when I was off doing my own thing. Eorzea is a boats ride away from Sharlyan, and the old town where I grew up in has been reclaimed by Goblins. Friendly Goblins, but Goblins.

More like, peddle for jigglyshine which is gil, our currency in Eorzea, and do trade. And sometimes stave off attacks from stupidly creative inventors.

That last part feels odd to me, given how much the Empire hoards the work Aspio does... We're kinda improving there? Slowly? But that's a really new reform.

I want to amend that point with, "Once you beat it out of them." when they're not being cooperative. Sometimes these Goblins try to take over the world with these machines and then things need to get sorted.

But then there's good goblins who help you out and they actually let you ride robots for free.

There was a group called the Illuminati who was out to control time using a Primal called Alexander. My friend put a stop to that with help with the goblins that were aligned with them.

And then there's the goblins who battle for fun, in the Rival Wings. I want to participate in that when I can. It looks like a lot of fun.

And I don't much get combat for fun...
