Amelie demonstrates the gesture she uses to open the Duck’s menu.

"Like this?"

Kamala replicated the gesture, and to her surprise, the menu appeared. "That's... great, I've just become part of a MMO story."

"So? What does this Duck want with me?"

[onaroll]

“We have conversations, visit other worlds, sometimes we go on pirate adventures.”

Pause to consider.

“Sometimes it makes portals to a small Japanese diner; the chef is actually quite good and the waitress is a very cute girl with lovely horns.”

"So... it's basically a chat room then?" replied Kamala. "But with meet ups, dimension hopping?"

A beat.

"Are there ponies?"

"Of course! My wife and I got married in Equestria, we still visit there on date nights!"

[ms_perfection]

"Amazing. All my fanfiction has just become valid. I am 100% sold on this whole magic internet thing."

Kamala types in a few things and hey that's a lot of My Little Pony. Not the stuff she's usually used to, but a show is a show right?

"Figured this was Hasbro. What else would it be? And oh hey, What happens if I type in Avengers...?"

[green_genes]

[Cue a green rabbit in response.]

Clearly it means it's finally Duck season.

Amelie can't tell you if that's a bad idea or not, because her tastes in superhero stuff runs more towards Sentai.

So she'll just watch with a pleasantly curious expression.

"Getting hits for Comics and Movies. Well, that seems to be about right."

She clicks a couple of links and goes, "Avengers Endgame due out this year... what's that about--oh. Thanos."

She shivered a little. "They're making a movie about Thanos?" A click. "TWO movies?"

"Thanos?"

"He's a psycho! He killed half the known universe cause he's crazy!"

A pause.

"Ah...does he actually exist in your world, or...?"

[ms_perfection]

"Yeah he does..." said Kamala, biting her lip.

"Can't imagine how he managed to get into a movie...? This MCU must be really crazy to make a movie out of him."

[onaroll]

Amelie decides to break out The Forbidden Template.

"It's called Transfictionality, the idea that whatever world you live in is a work of fiction in another world. In whatever world they're making these movies, he's simply a fictional character, so there aren't the same associations. We, ah...this is kind of the downside of the magic internet, honestly? It's not something we particularly dwell on. My world is apparently a video game series with a history of customizable, blank-slate protagonists, so I deal with it...a little less than others."

[green_genes]

[He shifts back to his normal form grinning broadly and wiggling his pointed ears.]

The name's Beastboy! Superhero and one man zoo! Nice to meetcha Slothbaby!

[He'll shift into sloth form next wiggling his claws.]

"That makes a lot of sense on a scary level. I guess I should be grateful that Thanos hasn't actually snapped another universe." said Kamala.

"Also, this is the number one rule: never turn off safe search."

Amelie looks incredibly serious.

"Never."

[ms_perfection]

"HUH. That's... different. I mean, I've never heard of you before. I guess this is something from another world!"

She's never heard of the DC/Marvel Wars before.

[ms_perfection]

"I know better than to turn off safe search!" Exclaimed Kamala.

"It can't be any worse than normal, right?"

[onaroll]

"You absolutely cannot think like that."

Amelie has to get her to understand.

"I don't know what your standards are for 'normal', so I'll just say this: the worst thing you've ever seen? It will have your face on it now."

There's so many things Amelie could say.

She's not going to, however, she'll just give Kamala her best compassionate expression.
